Precision Rimfire Rifle

Rimfire Precision
(follow our activities, pics and announcements on Facebook)
The Precision Rimfire Series at Courtenay and District Fish and Game follows the same format as the Outlaw Rimfire Precision Series.
Using a PRS-style match format, and a .22 rimfire action rifle, competitors will engage 1-5 steel targets between 25 to 100m in distance and will range in size from 1/2" to 6". These are shot in a variety of positions from a challenging set of platforms in timed stages. There are 5 stages in the "official" match and at the club level, we add a bonus stage for prizes and bragging rights. The Outlaw Series is the pre-cursor to participating in the CRPS - Canadian Rimfire Precision Series that challenges shooters at longer distances. The CRPS Matches are held here on Vancouver Island at both Nanaimo and Victoria a few times per year.
Matches are held across Canada to allow all Canadians a chance to see how they "stack up" against the rest of the country. Divided into three divisions, Youth - All competitors under 18 years of age in 2019, Production - (Rifle $500 USD MSRP and less, Optics $700 USD MSRP and Less) and Open, these events allow shooters of all budgets with an opportunity to test their skills and equipment under demanding conditions.
New for 2023, we are welcoming an Air Gun division and also a "stealth" division for those who are not wanting to have scores included as part of the national scoring program.
At the Courtenay club, we emphasize fun, community, learning for shooters of all ages and skill levels. Due to the relatively low cost of equipment and ammunition this sport is something that all members can participate in. We have loaner rifles available for new shooters and also run practice matches to introduce new shooters to this exciting sport. All matches are run through Practice Score which is a match management and scoring software system. You will need to have a Practice Score account to register for the matches. You can sign up for your FREE account by clicking here.
